Logitech M705 mouse scroll-wheel issues
« on: April 06, 2017, 06:01:41 PM »
My old, well-used and much-loved Logitech MX Laser mouse died this week... everybody say awww! But courtesy of Barry Morgan of Burton Tech Support I now have a snazzy new Logitech M705 mouse.

My initial reaction was that the wheel was horrid, it free-scrolls all over the place, and then I realised that it comes in free-scroll mode as default, but the wee button just below the wheel (which I had ignored!) actually switches the wheel from free-scrolling mode to the more familiar ratcheted wheel mode that I prefer. So, having clicked the switch I am now a happy bunny again!

The M705 is a bit smaller than my old MX Laser, but has the same shape body and is very comfortable for my hand. If anything I think it is a slightly better size for me than the MX Laser as my wrist now rests on the desk rather than being slightly raised in the air.

Now to get back to some proper productivity - during the last week using a mouse with a double-bounce on both switches has been frustrating to say the least!
Cheers,
