The UK is to leave the EU in March 2019, so this means that EURid (European Registry for Internet Domains) has been instructed by the European Commission that non-EU residents will no longer be able to register .eu domains, or renew any existing .eu domains, unless they also have an EU address. once the UK leaves the EU.
There are two relevant dates determined so far and EURid will therefore be terminating all .eu domain names registered to UK addresses on one of two dates:
° 30 March 2019 if the UK exits the EU with no deal
° 1 January 2021 if the UK exits the EU with a deal
There is, as mentioned, one exception to the blanket loss of all .eu domain names:
How to keep your .eu domain nameIf you have a legitimate EU postal address, you can use it as your domain's admin contact. If this is the case we would need to change the admin contact details on the domain file to an address within the EU.
Note that this must be a valid address connected with the business.What if I don't have an EU postal address?Unfortunately, this means that you will lose your EU domain on one of the two dates above.
